STEP ONE
Clobber The Clobber Passages
Put the clobber passages to rest for good by learning how they’re misinterpreted, traps to avoid when talking about them, and how to lead people to LGBTQ affirmation
Whether you’re new to being affirming, on the journey to getting there, or you’ve been a supporter forever, you probably get asked a lot about those pesky verses that seem to condemn LGBTQ+ folks.
In this workshop, we go over all of them (including the ones used against transgender folks) and share why the people who use them to condemn LGBTQ+ folks are wrong.
But then we go two steps further showing you how even these passages might have a liberating message and how to use everything you’re learning to have more effective conversations with people still on the journey.
Your presentation really captured my imagination.

Kind Homophobia & Transphobia Is Still Evil
Love the sinner, hate the sin. I support you but I don’t support your lifestyle. I love you but I can’t use the right pronouns for you. You are welcome in my house, but you and your partner can’t share a bed. I wish you every happiness in your life but I won’t be attending your wedding.
Do any of these sound familiar to you?
"All Are Welcome" Is A Meaningless Phrase
“All are welcome!” It rings like a refrain over the event. Speakers use it and every time people wildly applaud. We should be a church where all are welcome! Over and over again.
Proclaiming “All are welcome” is a great start, but there’s got to be more.
What I Learned About Faith & Justice from my Transgender Friends
Before Micah and I were best friends, we were accidental roommates.
My friendship with him me me realize that even though I am bisexual, there is still more for me to learn. He transformed the way that I see the world and gave me new tools for organizing for justice.
You Can't Build a Bridge Between LGBTQ People & The Church
Wait! It’s not what you might be thinking! We say this not because the two are incompatible, on the contrary, you can’t build a bridge because there aren’t two sides.
This type of language, while well-intentioned can actually harm LGBTQ+ people.
Ally Is An Action
